NIU is sponsored by Maruti Educational Trust with its mission being to provide quality education in India & research opportunities.

The Noida International University (NIU) is to be enacted by the Uttar Pradesh State Govt under the "Noida International University Uttar Pradesh Act, 2010" and will be notified through an official Gazette notification with the right to confer degrees as per sections 2(f) and 22(1) of the UGC Act 1956.

NIU is being set up as a non-profit institution with its primary objective being to provide access to educational opportunities in various subject areas to students in India wherein traditionally they have had to travel to the other cities wherein the major public universities have been housed. NIU offers high academic excellence, rich infrastructural facilities and also best career in teaching profession.
